The Smart Indicator uses different automation providers (e.g. UI Automation, Selenium or Native Automation) to identify applications, windows and individual elements.
Without identification, the robot would not know what actions to execute and where to perform them. Accordingly, false or erroneous identifications are a common source of problems in any process.By holding down shift and the up or down arrow on your keyboard, you can change the automation provider. For example, this might be useful if an element is not accessible via the default providers, so you can switch to Vision to automate your process.
In addition, you should always test whether a field has been identified beyond any doubt. By using the default variant Indicate by Screen, you will not be able to directly see which attributes are used to identify an element (although this information is provided in the right sidebar under Properties). This can lead to problems if the value of a field changes.
